Key Word Sign

Sign of the week is an opportunity to increase your skills in using key word sign. The signs used will be selected from Australian Sign Language (Auslan) which is the cultural language of the Australian Deaf Community.
 
Key word sign is a method used to support understanding and encourage language in children and adults with communication difficulties. Short clear sentences are spoken and the important or key words are signed at the same time. Additional information is given through the use of facial expression and natural gesture. Gymnastics Victoria will be posting a sign of the week every week on our website to support our community to become more inclusive of people with a disability.
