Do we have to be a not-for-profit club to get involved with the co-presentation program?
Of course not! All GV member clubs are entitled to get involved. The co-presentation program has great fundraising, marketing and professional development potential for all clubs regardless of business type.

Do we have to supply the competition venue to co-present an event?
The short answer is NO...One of the goals of the co-presentation program is to get more clubs involved in managing state gymnastics events. If your club runs on a pack up-set up basis or does not have sufficient equipment or space to host an event you can get involved in a Tier 1A event (where GV supplies the venue and equipment) or multi-co-present a Tier 1B or 2 event (send a team of volunteers to assist another club that does have enough equipment and space and share the profits).

We don’t have enough volunteers to co-present the whole event but still want to get involved, is this possible?

Under the co-presentation system volunteer teams are based on key functional areas such as Customer Service or Floor Management. Your club can get involved by providing a volunteer team to cover some but not all key functional areas. GV will source another club to cover the remaining teams and the profits and benefits would be shared accordingly. This is called multi co-presentation.

The number of volunteers required for an event is determined by the size and duration of the event? For multi Gymsport, multi session and multi day events it is recommended that clubs roster enough volunteers to work shifts and share the workload. For smaller, single day or session events only a handful of volunteers may be needed.

Our club doesn’t run that Gymsport. Can we still co-present the event?
Yes you can! In fact the co-presentation program is a great way to expose your club coaches, committee and volunteers to a new Gymsport. You will get an exclusive firsthand experience of what it’s really like and have the chance to network with coaches, judges and athletes already involved. The majority of volunteer positions do not require Gymsport specific expertise. At all GV events there are Event Duty Managers or Technical Committee personnel who will provide guidance and support as needed.

As the co-presentation club you are entitled to conduct fundraising activities such as raffles, sausage sizzles, canteen sales, donations for equipment or team travel...All fundraising activities do need to be approved by GV and cannot clash with any existing sponsorship, merchandising, catering or venue licensing agreements. GV encourages clubs to make the most of the fundraising opportunity as this is a great benefit of the co-presentation program.

Exactly how much money do co-presentation clubs make?
The co-presentation commission is determined by the size and duration of the event. The larger the event- the more remuneration for the club. In 2011 co-presentation clubs made between $600 and $5000 per event. During 2011 over $60,000 was earned by clubs as part of the co-presentation program.
Co-presentations clubs receive a percentage of the total competition entries. Co-presentation clubs that manage spectator admissions also receive revenue from event ticket sales. The GV events team will structure an agreement to suit your club and work with you to give you the best estimate of your potential income.
