How to Become a Coach

In 2010, Gymnastics Victoria changed the procedure for becoming a level one coach.

The new procedure is as follows;

Step 1.      Complete the FREE on-line Beginning Coaching General Principles course, co-ordinated  by the Australian Sports Commission -   click here to access

Step 2.      Print off certificate from On-Line Beginning Coaching General Principles

Step 3.     Attach certificate to Gymnastics Victoria Level one coaching course application and send to GV with payment

Step 4.     Attend discipline specific coaching course. Candidates will receive 2 books and a handout.

Step 5.     Send  assessment booklet only to Gymnastics Victoria  and a DVD for KG, GFA and CHL

Step 6.     If passed, candidates will receive a congratulations letter and a Technical member application form. Candidates will need to send the Technical Member application form to Gymnastics Australia with nominated payment within 3 months of receipt. If candidates need to resubmit, this will need to be completed and sent back to GV within 3 months.
