WAG TECHNICAL COMMITTEE (WAG TC)
 
Goals & Objectives
  • Develop Women’s Gymnastics as an acceptable high profile Australian Sport, through improved performance and participation in safe quality programs.
  • Provide the training and support to enable athletes to develop and compete successfully at State, National and International levels.
  • Provide education and support to enable coaches to successfully coach athletes at Club, State, National and International level.
  • Provide education and support to enable judges to competently evaluate athletes at Club, State, National and International levels.
  • Develop and assist in the development of resources along with providing opportunities for coaches’ and judges’ education.
  • Provide programs that assist clubs and encourage participation for all and the retention of athletes.
  • To further develop our own State Stream and increase the numbers of mature aged athletes.
  • Support and develop the HPC and other international stream programs in Victoria.
  • Promote and market the achievements of our International and National athletes.
  • Deliver technical services to clubs, coaches and officials.
 
Responsibilities
  • The WAG Technical Committee is responsible for:
  • The administration of the National Levels Program (NLP), –National Development Program (NDP), International Levels Program (ILP) and Victorian State Levels Program.
  • Competition rules and regulations.
  • Development and implementation of policies and programs which enhance the development of WAG in Victoria.
  • Development and implementation of judge’s education within Victoria and the selection and preparation of State Teams in accordance with the Technical Regulations of the International Gymnastic Federation (FIG), Gymnastics Australia (GA), and Gymnastics Victoria (GV).
 
Meeting Procedures
 
Meeting Frequency
The committee shall meet at least once a month, with the option in January (dates to be published in the GV Bulletin).
 
 Power to Co-Opt
The Committee shall have the power to co-opt such additional persons to the Committee as is deemed necessary, and for such time and/or specific terms as determined by the Committee. The power may extend to encompass persons with special abilities from outside Gymnastics Victoria.

Victorian Elite Management Committee (VEMC)

The VEMC is a sub-committee of the GV Board. The GV Board recognizes that the VEMC simultaneously supports the requirements of GA, the VIS, the PMC, GV and other GV committees and sub-committees. Nevertheless, the VEMC is ultimately accountable to the GV Board.

It is responsible for the development and control of the Levels 1a, 2a, 3a and all International Stream Levels.
