Gymnastics Victoria is committed to working with primary and secondary schools throughout Victoria. There are tangible benefits of participating in gymnastics that not only improve performance in the classroom but also enhance the work of school's in the personal and physical development of students. Schools can get involved in gymnastics through participating in Gymnastics Victoria events or by offering gymnastics as part of a physical education program.

Gymnastics Victoria delivers three schools-based competitions each year including the AEROSkools Victorian Championships, the Primary Interschool Gymnastics Championships and the Secondary Interschool Gymnastics Championships. These competitions are planned for teachers and students with modified rules and requirements designed to assist schools in participating. User friendly information and routine manuals are available to guide schools through the process of preparing for and participating in a Gymnastics Victoria event.

Gymnastics incorporates fundamental movement skills required in all types of physical activity and will help children develop the coordination need to for all sports and for leading an active lifestyle, and should be included in every school physical education program. By participating in a Gymnastics program children will develop their fundamental movement skills, strength and fitness all while having a great time. Furthermore, gymnastics is not just a work out for kid’s bodies, but also for their brains, with activities designed to help with learning, concentration and brain development. Gymnastics will also help develop children's social skills through team work and cooperation. 

Schools are encouraged to work with their local gymnastics club to develop and deliver programs that offer students the opportunity to have fun, be physically active and develop skills for life!
