Affiliating with GV

Clubs engaged in gymnastics may apply to join Gymnastics Victoria as an Affiliated Club. Applications shall be in writing to the Executive Director and include a copy of the Incorporation Certificate or Business Registration, Constitution, Statement of Purposes, and Rules or Bylaws. The written application shall be accompanied by payment of the club affiliation fee, joining fee, Club Affiliation document and agreement to abide by the rules and statutes of GV.

• GV Rules and the decisions of the General Meeting and the Board shall bind all clubs.

• Clubs shall pay such subscriptions, registration fees and levies as shall be prescribed from time to time by the Board and endorsed by the General Meeting.

• Clubs other than school clubs shall affiliate by the first day of February in each year.  Names and addresses of all members and payment of all affiliation and registration fees for the club and its members must be by the due date. Club members joining after that time shall be registered with GV within one month.

• Clubs shall pay such amounts as the Board may prescribe in accordance with these rules for affiliation and registration fees as soon as possible after collection from their members. A club failing to pay due affiliation fees by the first day of April in each year or to forward a registration fee within 28 days of that registration shall be in arrears under these rules.

• Clubs using a bulk fee payment method must pay by the due dates.

• Clubs other than school clubs shall appoint and be represented by one delegate at general meetings of GV.

• Clubs shall advise GV in writing within 30 days of appointment of the names and addresses of Chief Executive Officers and of delegates to general meetings.

• A club shall give one month’s written notice to GV of any gymnastic competition it proposes to conduct in conjunction with or against any other club or body and such competition must not proceed without the sanction of GV.

• A club shall not advertise or publicise in any way any gymnastic competition it conducts as being under the rules of GV without first obtaining the approval of GV, and only then in accordance with such conditions as may be imposed by the Board.

• A Club falling into arrears with subscriptions or other payments due hereunder may be suspended or have its affiliation cancelled by the Board and thereafter suspension shall not be lifted and it shall not be granted re-affiliation until such time as all monies due are paid to GV.

• The delegates of Clubs in arrears with subscriptions or under suspension shall not be entitled to take part in any general meeting nor shall its members be entitled to attend any special general meeting nor may any of its gymnasts or members compete in any event conducted by or under the rules of GV.
