The Gymnastics Victoria February Athlete of the Month is Harriet from MLC Gymnastics.

An outstanding 2019 saw Harriet win the 2019 Levels Gymnast of the Year at the 2019 Family Ball and Awards Night due to her standout performances in and out of the gym. Her passion and love for gymnastics has shown through her commitment to each training session, her encouragement of all athletes at MLC Gymnastics and her respect towards all coaching staff.

Harriet begun the 2019 competition season winning the Level 10 All-Around Victorian Championships and was a part of the MLC Team which took out first place in the WAG Gymnastics Team Spectacular.  Harriet was then selected to represent the Victorian Team in Level 10 at the 2019 Australian Championships.  Harriet placed first All-Around, first on Floor and third on Bars and Beam.

In September last year, Harriet moved into the Junior Division of Australian Classic, where she placed seventh All-Around.  Her results caught the eye of selectors and Harriet was chosen to take part in the WAG Team Future Advanced Camp.

At only 12 years of age, Harriet’s 2019 results are a testament to her love of gymnastics as well as being mature beyond her years. Her ability to lead a group of athletes in any situation is remarkable for such a young person, aspiring to show the highest level of excellence at all times.  She is passionate, respectful and really shines when she is a part of a team. Harriet is such a lovely role model to all of our younger MLC members.

Always lending a hand at any and all MLC events, her desire to help out and give back to the club which supports her is fabulous.  Harriet, is actively involved in all fundraising activities at MLC and she is also taking part in MLC's Big Sister Little Sister program.

Awesome work Harriet!
