Club of the Month – BTYC Gymnastics

Gymnastics Victoria are proud of having so many fantastic clubs across the State. We will be featuring Club of the Month profiles – you can nominate a Club to be featured by clicking here

BTYC Gymnastics was formed in 1972 and has established itself as one of Victoria’s leading clubs – especially in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics – with over 1400 members. 

In addition to a very strong Men’s Artistic Gymnastics program, BTYC Gymnastics also run Women's Artistic Gymnastics, Trampolining, Gymstar and Recreational Programs at their facility in Donvale.

In 2018 BTYC have made a commitment to becoming leaders in Child Safety working closely with Gymnastics Victoria’s Child Safe Coordinate Phoebe Pownall to make sure the club is compliant. 

At the Australian Gymnastics Championships held at the end of May, BTYC Gymnastics had eight Men’s Artistic Gymnastics athletes who achieved fantastic result including the following:
Samuel Vagg – Level 7 (Under 13) Pommel Silver Medal
Kynan Whitehead - Level 9 (Under 17) Team Gold Medal and Pommel Bronze Medal
James Dunn – Level 9 (Open) Pommel Gold Medal, High Bar Bronze Medal and Team Bronze Medal
William Whitehead - Level 9 (Open) Vault Bronze Medal and Team Bronze Medal
Chris Grantsos - Level 9 (Open) Team Bronze Medal

This month BTYC run the South East Region Specialist School Sports Association Gymnastics Carnival where they created a fun and inclusive environment for over 70 students to experience Gymnastics.

Next month BTYC Gymnastics are also supporting our Leading Clubs Conference with General Manager David Hunsdale presenting a couple of workshops.
