Great Club and Coach Conferences

Over 350 members of the Victorian Gymnastics community started the year with a bang by attending our 2018 Club Conference and 2018 Coach Conference.

The 2018 Club Conference took place on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 January at the Victoria University City Flinders Campus.

Over 80 people attended the two days of sessions which included presentations from the international, national and local Gymnastics community.

Lynn Ledford from Cal Elite Kids in the USA shared some of the key things that make her business successful, while 3rd Level Consulting’s Frank Sahlein returned for his ninth conference and talked about HR and Marketing.
John Mitchell from Delta Gymnastics in Queensland gave hints on how to grow your business, while we also had a wide variety of speakers from Victorian Clubs including Skylark Sports, Jets Gymnastics, Eclipse Gymnastics, Peninsula Gymnastics and Fishermen’s Bend.

A highlight of the Club Conference is always the Conference Dinner and it was great to see so many people in attendance mixing business with socialising.

Three days after the Club Conference we kicked off our 2018 Coach Conference with Day 1 on Saturday 20 January featuring theoretical sessions at Melbourne Polytechnic in Prahran and practical sessions at Movement for Life Windsor.

Day 2 of the Coach Conference was held across multiple different locations with Gymsport specific workshops including Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Men’s Artistic Gymnastics and Rhythmic Gymnastics at the State Gymnastics Centre in Prahran, Gymnastics For All at Movement for Life Windsor, Trampoline Gymnastics at Cheltenham Youth Club and Aerobics Coaching Courses at Aerodynamix.

There were 54 different clubs represented by the 276 people at the Coach Conference with members from all of our Victorian regions: Metro North Central, Metro East, Metro West, Metro South, North West, North East, South West and South East.

Our excellent presenters for the Coach Conference included Stacey Umeh (RG/WAG) and Regan Molyneaux (WAG) from Western Australia, Brett Austine (TRP) from NSW as well as a large number of coaches from our fantastic Victorian Gymnastics community.

A big thank you to all of the presenters from our two conferences and we hope everyone who attended the Club Conference or Coach Conference were able to learn something new that they can apply at their club in 2018.
