NDP 1-3 Clarification
There has been some confusion over changes to the 1-3 program from 2010 to 2011.In 2011 there is no longer an additional omission deduction of 1.00. If a gymnast omits a skill they will only lose the value of that skill and any connection if applicable. If a gymnast makes an attempt but does not meet the technical requirements they will lose half the value of the element. This is the same rule as at 4-6.
For example:-
Bars - A gymnast completes a bar routine and omits a glide. They would lose 1.00 for the value of the glide.-
Beam - A gymnast who attempts a handstand and does not reach 10° will lose half of the value (0.5)-
Beam - A gymnast who omits a straight jump out of a straight jump + tuck jump series will lose the value of the straight jump (1.00) and the connection (0.30).
This was printed incorrectly in the State Pennant Manual and the following change needs to be made to Page 6 dot point 4.-      Omission of an element will incur a deduction of the element value from the D-Score.
The following are clarification to the new level 1 – 3 routines:
These affect level 3 preparation floor and level 3 floor routines.
  • In the preparation the first splits sequence is incorrect and needs to be split’s once on preferred leg ONLY.
  • Two forward high kicks ARE OUT and are to be replaced by handstand forward roll, straight arms
  • Level 3 splits are the same as for Preparation 3 and the push to bridge has been deleted.
  • Any further alterations are to be posted on GA website.

The WAG TC advises that gymnasts will have the option of competing a handstand flatback off a board to a 30cm crashmat OR a handspring flatback as per the manual.
This will apply to all invitationals and State Pennant for 2011.  This ruling will be reviewed for 2012
